Considering I’ve started most blogs off recently saying I’m un-inspired, I thought I’d start this one off a little differently.
Last year I blogged about the positive effect exercise (and running at that), has on your mental health and in general your mood. Besides the health and weight loss side to exercise, it’s a huge factor towards living a more positive life. So two weeks ago I decided to dust off my run shoes properly and hit the pavement again. I’ve missed exercising outdoors for many reasons, but mainly because it feels so good to breathe in clean fresh air after a long day at work. There’s something about running outdoors that clears your head and feeds the soul after a stressful or busy day.
A big bonus is also the fact that my job has set up a Run Club, which means its more convenient to run mid week for me now. It’s definitely motivating to have a professional trainer coach the hour long session. I’ve gone twice now (once a week) and I can see my fitness levels increase, my breathing technique and my posture changing. It’s really nice to run on new ground too, the same route can get boring fast. Also, Spring has finally arrived (YAY!) and two weeks ago it was the perfect run weather, clear blue skies and 10 degrees. Although as the weekend arrived it of course turned more grey and rainy.
