It’s not the first time I’ve spoken about trying to live a more healthy and active life on the blog. But I’ve been stuck in a rut for a while and office life has started to take its toll! Weekly birthday party celebrations, afternoon ‘treats’ and going out for unhealthy lunches have all began to add a few inches to my waistline. I’m not too sure I’m happy with my relationship with food at the moment and I know I’m not the only one who thinks YOLO come every Friday evening. I’m all for balance, but that means being healthy too!
More importantly, healthy living is so good for your mental health and wellbeing. It’s time to be more positive and active! Myself and a friend in work have decided to sign up for a 10 week personal training programme and week 1 has been amazing! I wasn’t going to share this journey as I’m sure we’re all sick of the #fitfam on Instagram but then I thought to myself, this is a big deal! There are so many other people out there like myself who are struggling and trying with their weight and may need a bit of normality and reality to help them by. I know thats what I look for online, ‘normal’ people that aren’t perfectly posed and filtered. Following full time Personal Trainers/Professional Weight-lifters/Celebrities can sometimes be discouraging, as you feel like that goal is completely unachievable working a 12 hour day at an office (and I don’t even have kids on top of that)!
I’m hoping by keeping this online diary it will allow me to be accountable and stay on track and hopefully by Christmas week I will see a significant difference in my mind & body! Of course as my wedding day draws nearer (7 months!) I want to lose weight and get fit, but really I just want a more healthy mind. It’s not good for anybody to have negative feelings towards themselves with regard to their appearance and an emotional addiction to food. It’s time to realise that we are in control of these feelings and emotions and food cannot and will not fix them!
The main reason for joining PT is to have someone who can help me with technique, teach me about nutrition and get the best out of me in that 45 min session. This week I done 2 PT sessions and 1 HIIT group class. It’s true what they say, you never regret a workout after it’s done.
This week I might do a food diary to share and I’m going to attempt to do 4 classes this week! I’m really trying to not focus particularly on scales and more about how I’m feeling – strong and in control. Living by the quote below at the moment.
Happy long weekend All!
